Renee Robyn
Канада
Добавлен 16 апр 2012
Photographer and Photoshop junkie, from the frozen Canadian prairies. Mostly hiding in studios to stay warm in winter or avoid being devoured by moose sized mosquitoes in summer. Occasionally she does find herself outdoors, but it is usually brief or in the quest of making new compositing backdrop material.
This adventure started way back in 1997, and has taken her from rural life to around the world.
But be nice, shes still learning how to suck less at this whole RUclips thing... :)

Huge Sabbath Photoshoot - Most of it is too spicy.
Hi and welcome back to another video! This is the result of 4 years of experimentation and lots of failure, but I finally got it! My biggest composite to date! I lost track of all the layers, but for adding and blending the people in was 51 layers on it's own!
Excuse the basic video, I filmed all the self video on my phone because it actually does 4k and my 5D mk3 only does 1080 ^--^ Doing my best here with limited gear!
Huge, huge amounts of love to the models who helped make this project happen. I could not have done this without your trust and time. Thank you, from the bottom of my dark little soul.

gorgeous
everytime the final photos shows up, I just am in awe! amazing work!!
Your Beautiful Renee 😍
What's with the extremely bright LED lights? Did you just use them for the video and did separate photos without them?
Beatiful! Amazing!
Just wanna give my feedback as a viewer watching you take photos without showing results as you shoot them,.. it makes me skip until I can see results because its not very interessting looking at you counting down 3-4 times without seeing anything. Also the hairflipping does not make me excited for the shot when you sit there "we got one!" and then not see anything for a long time. This 12 min video turned into a 2 minute skipfest and it feels bad because it looks like nice color grading etc. But its really boring to backseat without actually seeing the seeing photos as they are shot.
Only thing is, could you Photoshop that thing off of her nose?😮
Awesome. Btw, what (lav?) mic were you using? Sounded really clean, not much bg sounds of the environment coming through.
It's amazing! Thank you so much, just something I've been looking for! Would you mind asking what lens do you use for this?
Welp, I have a new favorite channel on RUclips. I can't wait to see all the other content you've recorded!
Just stumbled across this vid Renee, and I think you put across really well the versatility of a one light set up. Each setup has it's merits, is relatively easy to arrange in the studio, and provides amazing results. I'll definitely be using your inspiration at a few shoots I have in the pipeline. More pls 👌
What did you do to change the background color?
In Adobe camera raw I added blue/greens to the shadows :)
I don't know how it looks while shooting but finished images are lovely. How did you learn that photoshop skill? Great
Thank you! 20+ years of practice! :)
Thanks for this! Gonna try to tweak for my 23 mm 1.4 prime whilst still getting smooth water long exposure look. ❤fellow east coaster
Oh amazing!! Have the most incredible time 💖
this is so beautiful , I love every single shot, what kinda light stand are you using for your overhead light ?
Manfrotto 💖
What lens are you using
Sigma 70-200 sport 💖
can you share links of your boom arm for the stand and the v flats
are you using also the constant light on the stands on the back? do you have links for those as well
Constant lights are for the video only. They don’t impact the photos. Boom arm is an old Manfrotto arm :) I don’t know if they sell it anywhere anymore but I’m sure comparable can be found. V Flats are home made :) got the foam from Home Depot 💖
Would love to see more, great job as always! Great to see a pro such as yourself being messy in PS, my layers are always all over the shop, even when I start with good intentions!
Always with good intentions but things get messy sometimes haha
Love watching you work the scene and post processing, more please ❤
Working on it! 💖
She said, "yayy, i'm not a complete hack"😂😂literally how I feel starting out so afraid people will just think that & that I'm passing off as I just know exactly what i'm doing. Makes me feel better knowing even professional photographers go with the flow, adjust based on their environment, & that is NORMAL. Nothing is "perfect" or goes to plan but somehow, for the most part, it works out & becomes "perfect"❤️❤️❤️
See!? There you go 💖💖💖
Those photos are mesmerising🎉❤
Aw thank you so much!!!
You are so amazing! How do you remove the modifiers from the frame? With the remove feature or do you mask with multiple shots? Thanks
I most often use Content Aware Fill in Photoshop :)
Stunning. I think my favourite was the third image as I really loved the lighting set up. I’m so so new to working with lights as I’ve always done out door natural light. But I’m hooked ❤
Glad we got you hooked! It’s a fun time! 💖
I am so excited I found your channel ❤
I’m so happy to have you! 💖💖
My gosh stunning work❤
Aw thank you so much!
These were beautiful BTW, I have been inspired by you for years
Day made, thank you! 💖💖
Could you do a video explanation on rear synch flash for long exposure in the day light? been struggling with this even with ND filters
Oohhh! Good call! I mean there’s a lot of people who have explained this in detail. I might be able to get a video out some time next year? I’ve got a huge backlog of videos to edit right now 💖
I love the colour grading and green tones you have given the background. Do you do any videos on your editing technique?
I have some stuff on creative live 💖 but I need to make new ones 💖 I’ll see what I can do!
Love the video ❤
Aw shucks, thank you so much! 💖💖
Golden teaching right here. Love the sketches and the results are stunning. Great teaching. My favourite video. 😊
Aw thank you so much! I appreciate that 💖💖
I love the soft emotive style!
Thank you! It’s so pretty 💖
Red and black with no faces is not emotive, it's satanic. I wonder who ordered the photos.
😂😂😂😂😂
😂❤ thats awesome
😂😂 thanks!
Beautiful!
Thank you so much!
Thank you! Thank you so much! This has brought me inspiration to start photography again. I have always loved it especially as a child. I asked for a camera for Christmas a real one but because we was poor I got a disposable one. I’m old guys😂 that disposable camera at 7 years old changed my life lol I took pictures of my animals, friends at school, family and I set all my stuffed animals up with tea cups and took their photos as well. When in high school I saved enough money to get my own camera. It was a $60 camera in 2001. I loved it so much. I forgot about that part of me. Your video has brought that back in me.
Omg that’s amazing! I’m so flattered… I love that you have such fond memories hidden away 💖💖
This photos are magical! Amazing work!
Aw thank you so much!!💖💖
Love these!!! Beautiful lighting on your dancer!!!
Thank you so much !
Genuine question why a hood and 300mm lens in a studio? You said one light but there is plenty from the studio
Hood so I don’t get lens flare, plus it saves my glass from getting bumped or scratched because I’m often not paying attention where the lens tip is going. And it’s one strobe light. The photographs aren’t impacted by the continuous light. If they were, the cover image would have been impossible. And it’s a sigma 70-200, and I use it because I like the compression and my studio is big enough to use it :)
Great video. What Kelvin do you shoot in?
Thank you! Kelvin for the video or for the photography ?
@@ReneeRobyn my pleasure 😊. Kalvin for the photography.
It was about 3200 I believe :)
I've randomly been booked to do a shoot of a ballerina this weekend, and as someone who knows 0 about ballet, this is thr most helpful video I've watched on shooting a ballerina. So thank you! It had the right amount of talking and photos! It's really helpful to know why you shot in the way you did, and it's given me some ideas lol. I preferred the softer photos, as they look less posed 😁
Oh perfect! I hope you like the next dance video I’m working on :)
Beautiful images, I am a portrait photographer but I am looking at moving into dance photography, great video.
Thank you! It’s a fun transition :) you’ll enjoy it!
Thanks, I can't wait .
It’ll be great :)
I LOVE this shoot! I would love to shoot like this every day. Great model, great lighting, great commentary. And I totally recognized the sound of that shutter! The 5D Mark III is one of my main cameras. Thanks for posting this!
Hahaha love my 5D3 💖 glad you’re on the same gear!
Helpful video. Is the umbrella you used silver or white? Thank you
It’s silver with a white diffusion sock on it :)
@@ReneeRobyn Thank you
No worries!
The algorithm knows me. Beautiful work!
Aw yay!! And thank you! 💖
It was amazing 🥰
Thank you! 💖💖
Those photos look amazing!! Are you using HSS for the flashes to freeze motion? last time i did a dance photoshoot.. i was using really beginner studio flashes with no HSS.. and some of the pictures had blurry tips on hands/feets
Oh yeah HSS is very helpful to freeze motion 💖
Cool ❤💫
Thank you! 💖💖
Definitely love them both. Different feels and evokes different emotions. Very inspirational video thank you 😊
Thank you so much for watching! 💖💖
THANK YOU for that wonderful journey! The video was composed perfectly and matched the story. I also enjoyed the brief equipment info and reasons why you did what you did.
I appreciate this so much, thank you! 💖
I have been wanting to do this style for a while now. None of my models know how to pose for it, and we also don't have the outfits. Sucks!
You need dancers, not models :) and clothing is easier to make than you think, if you have any friends who can sew 💖
@@ReneeRobyn I actually did it last week. Yay!
Oh yay!! Amazing!!
Didn't see enough photos...too much talking
Ah well, this might not be the channel for you then :)
